My pieces usually focus on figurative language, figurative expression, and environmental narrative, which explore elements of visual storytelling. Representational imagery is found in most of my work, figurative forms are prevalent as cartoon realism and landscapes and other environments are often depicted in a semi-photographic way. This visual language allows the viewer to be immersed in my works, pulling them into different worlds. I have always been inspired by worlds created in cartoons, comics, anime, and manga, and I’m drawn to how objects outside of reality would hook you into its universe. The intention of my work going forward is to create a medium in which to present narratives and stories that are tied to the patterns and cycles of life.

Narratives and writing have always been a big component of my life, as such the work I create is reflective of that. Before I start a piece I research and outline different stories that relate to an overall native I want to depict, then I’ll decide what materials to use. The materials I use are based on what I’m making and how I’m making it, so the type of materials I’m using vary from piece to piece, however, I tend to gravitate towards using graphite or oil paint the most.
